Simone Biles
Simone Biles was an American gymnast born March 14, 1997 in the city of Columbus, Ohio. She is considered to be one of the greatest gymnasts. The 2016 Olympics were held at Rio de Janeiro and Biles was the U.S.'s only female gymnast ever to be awarded four gold medals. Biles also took home the world title for all-around 3 times in succession (2013-15). Biles grew up in Spring Texas in the Houston metropolitan area following the time her and her sister Adria had been adopted by grandparents Ronald Biles and Nellie Biles. Simone's fascination with gymnastics started when she was just six years old, during a trip with her day-care group to Bannon Gymnastix. Simone remained in the hands of Aimee Borman as coach until the year 2011. Biles won a gold in floor exercise and a bronze in vault during the women's Junior Olympic National Championships in 2010. She then stepped into the elite competition in 2011. The following year, Biles dominated the sport. Biles was notable for her consistently high performance and exuberant character, as well as the difficult routines she performed across all four events such as vaulting, uneven bars, and balance beam.
