It was only when she reached 17 that she got into acting. She had competed in numerous dancing contests. The movie Dirty Dancing starring Patrick Swayze made her want to become an actress. Cook had met Nathan Andersen while taking a film class at Utah Valley University in the summer of 2001, married her. Mekhai Allan Andersen is the father of the couple.
